If you don’t know of a suitable guardian for your pet

We recommend that you contact your local vet for a list of reputable rescues and reaching out to them in advance.  Rescues rely on donations and support, and so if you use a rescue, please consider collaborating with the rescue regarding how your pet should be cared for in the future and if they agree to serve as guardian.   It's also worthwhile to put the word out to your network of friends and family, asking if they know of anyone who is willing to accept Pet Guardianship.
